On May 7, 2025, the New York City Planning Commission approved the land use application for the casino to replace Coney Island, despite significant opposition from thousands of local residents and community members.
Currently, the New York City Council has a 50-day window to conduct a public hearing and vote on the proposal. Traditionally, the Council aligns its vote with the position of the local council member, Justin Brannan — who has yet to speak out against the project.
Between now and mid-June is the most impactful window for public action. Follow the steps below to help SAVE CONEY ISLAND.
